Adlib Software: Twitter

As a Social Media Manager, I managed Adlib Software’s Twitter account throughout 2018. Adlib Software enables organizations to automate document processing, eliminating time and errors associated with manual processes with unmatched flexibility, reliability, and scalability.

Needs analysis

Adlib Software’s work is highly specific. Not many people would know what exactly they do if they happened upon their website. But their expertise is extremely valuable for organizations that deal with high volumes of data.

The challenge as a social media manager was to translate Adlib’s value into words that their social media users would understand. In addition, Adlib was looking for a stronger, more personable voice in their social media. They wanted to connect with followers on a deeper level and demonstrate the importance of data organization and privacy, especially when the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) became mandatory in May 2018.

Process

Working closely with Adlib’s Demand Generation & Marketing Lead, I conducted research on data organization and big data management, as well as took stock of the vast amount of content Adlib had already been curating on their website’s active blog. I used Oktopost to schedule and monitor content.

My strategy for their Twitter presence was to offer value first. I stayed on top of any new content they were creating, to be able to share it with followers in a timely manner, as well as periodically sharing older content when relevant. I also reported on Twitter any conferences and events Adlib attended, interacting with other organizations online.

In order to build a friendlier voice for their Twitter account, I engaged with other influencers in their industry online and kept a calendar of any interesting or significant events. During the 2018 FIFA World Cup, for example, I would research any interesting articles that pertained to the FIFA or soccer and data management. This let followers learn more about how data organization can directly impact certain industries, and made the topic more relatable.
